Habit: Small pygmy bamboo, 0.3 – 0.6 (0.8) m, upright, dense, bushy, forming many runners.
Leaves: Winter to ever-green, small, green, lanceolate.
Culms: Short, thin, green.
Roots: Shallow roots with far-reaching root system, ground covering, rhizome barrier recommended.
Demands: Light shade to shade; tolerates warmth as well as chill; moderately frost hardy up to -23°C; likes high humidity.
Soil: Moderately dry to moist; acidic to alkaline, in all soils.
Our advice: Pruning this bamboo once or twice a year promotes dense leaf carpet.
